This Christmas
This Christmas
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are blessed as we drop toys in that very large box.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are loved as we take cookies to the nursing home.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are true friends as we make small gift bags for their classmates.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are my favorite people as we make popcorn and settle in to watch a movie in front of the fireplace.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are fun as we make “homemade” slice and bake cookies with copious sprinkles and frosting.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are gifted with siblings as I share my favorite memories of the brother whose memory is so very bright this time each year.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are housed in peace and we will say a prayer for the children of Aleppo.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are the future and they alone, choose how they will travail the paths they are gifted.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are the spark of meaning in my incredible life, every single one of them.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are beautiful, the type of beautiful that free falls far below the surface.
This Christmas, I will tell my children that no matter the circumstance, joy is there for the taking as long as they remain steadfast seekers.
This Christmas, I will tell my children they are the faces on our Christmas card that tell the world what real love is like for a family in Eastern NC.
Joy to you and yours. Xo
