The Photo
Eleven years ago this month, I was wrapping up a job and getting ready for the birth of our first child.
Eleven years ago, I was home with a newborn thinking it was the hardest thing I had ever done.
Eleven years ago, I thought to myself, I’m ready to have another child.
Eleven years ago, days were so long and the years were quite short.
Eleven years ago, I woke up many days and wondered what we could possibly find to do for the next twelve hours.
Eleven years ago, I wondered what it would like to finally be home, minus children.
Eleven years later, I’m counting the hours (3), the minutes (17), the seconds (4) until my nest is full again.
Eleven years was far too little.
