Only A Mother
Last night I woke up with acid reflux from red wine and a hamburger and as I tried to quietly dig through bathroom drawers, she popped right up. Only a mother.
Though I had scared the you know what out of her, she offered imtely to take me to CVS even though it was 2:30am. Only a mother.
Barefoot and in our pajamas, we rode the golf cart three blocks and she handed me her credit card and specific instructions for 150mg, not cool mint. Only a mother.
I realized today that I have no pictures of us together from the last year and I vow to make sure that ridiculous phenomena will not repeat itself. Only a mother.
My mama posed for a picture early this morning, minus makeup or hair fixing and I knew she loved me. Only a mother.
I’ve learned from the best.
