Best Day Ever
Mondays are tricky. Alarms rouse grumpy folks from slumber, including me. Today is the best day ever. It’s not your circumstances that support that seemingly confident proclamation. It just is. We are alive and here and tackling life. A life that ain’t picture perfect or terribly easy. It involves kids and work and for me, a little person with special needs that detests getting his shoes on. It involves coffee and sweating and coaxing fruit loops into a person wallowing on the floor- calmed only by YouTube lullaby videos. Today is the best day ever. My eleven year old said, “If this is the best day, wonder what the worst would be like?,” as I hog tied a five year old to shove his unwilling feet into not too new Nike’s. I wish I could say that I espoused some sort of clever and meaningful retort. I didn’t. I just laughed. Today is the best day ever.
You have to fake it ‘til you make it and don’t forget to laugh.
