Amos Pageant Preparation
My name is Amos.
I am to be in the Christmas Pageant tomorrow.
I am a sheep.
At least, that’s what they tell me.
I am not a big fan of costumes.
Or sheep.
My brother said that I would make a good snake.
I slithered right through the wooden rails so I could investigate the altar.
My mother said she has her limits.
I mean, it’s one thing to be included, she said.
It’s another thing to set the church on fire, Amos.
She is so dramatic.
And so easy to antagonize.
Anywho.
She told Daddy that she needed him to help.
Pulling out the big guns now.
I will do my best.
However, I do not like waiting, being told what to do or sitting.
Other than that, I’m good.
Disobedient and cute.
I mean, nobody’s perfect and God made me different.
Good thing that our church believes autism and genetic differences don’t make you a pariah.
I’m really a bright star.
Love,
Amos
